Aero India 2025: The 15th edition of Aero India, Asia’s largest airshow, is scheduled to take place at the Yelahanka airbase in Bengaluru from February 10 to 14. The defense ministry announced that this year’s focus will be on creating new partnerships and accelerating indigenization in the aerospace sector.

Highlighting the significance of the event, the ministry stated, “With the broad theme ‘The Runway to a Billion Opportunities,’ the event will provide a platform for forging partnerships between foreign and Indian firms and the discovery of newer avenues in the global value chain to accelerate the indigenisation process.”

Air Force to Host Event to Promote Indigenous Defence Innovation

The timing of the airshow aligns with the government’s priority of enhancing the indigenization of military hardware. To strengthen international cooperation, India will also host the Defence Ministers’ Conclave during the event, centered on the theme ‘BRIDGE – Building Resilience through International Defence and Global Engagement.’ As per Hindustantimes, the ministry explained, “It encapsulates the dynamic geopolitical conditions and the path to mutual prosperity, which can be BRIDGED through cooperation among nations with shared vision of security and development.”

Aero India 2023 Success

According to ThePrint, the previous edition of Aero India in 2023 was a massive success, drawing over seven lakh visitors, dignitaries from 98 countries, and 809 exhibitors, which included businesses, investors, start-ups, and MSMEs.

The ministry noted that the 2023 airshow facilitated more than 250 partnerships and technology transfers valued at ₹75,000 crore. Reflecting on this success, the ministry stated, “The 2025 edition aims to surpass these achievements and promises to be even bigger in scope and grandeur.”

With its ambitious agenda and focus on innovation, the upcoming Aero India is expected to further solidify India’s position in the global aerospace and defense sectors while fostering strategic international collaborations.
