Aero India 2025: Adani Defence & Aerospace and DRDO Launch India’s Advanced Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System

Adani Defence, in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has unveiled a Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System in India, enhancing its defense capabilities against drone threats.

Advanced Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System

Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System: India has taken a big step forward in strengthening its defense capabilities with the launch of a new Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System. This advanced system was unveiled on Tuesday at Aero India 2025 by Adani Defence & Aerospace in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

The event was attended by top officials from DRDO, defense experts, and industry leaders, showcasing India’s commitment to building its own defense technologies.

The new system protects against drone threats, which are becoming a major concern in modern warfare. Countries increasingly use drones for spying and attacks, making strong anti-drone systems crucial. The Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System detects, tracks, and neutralizes drones with high precision. Engineers mount it on a 4×4 vehicle, making it highly mobile and flexible for use in different situations.

The system uses advanced technology to detect and stop drones. It has a high-energy laser to destroy drones accurately, a 7.62 mm gun to shoot down aerial threats, and advanced sensors like radar and jammers to track and neutralize drones within a range of 10 kilometers. This makes it a powerful tool for the Indian armed forces to protect important areas and infrastructure.

According to ET, Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defence & Aerospace, said, “This unveiling shows the success of India’s defense innovation ecosystem, driven by DRDO’s world-class research and development. Adani Defence & Aerospace is proud to turn DRDO’s cutting-edge technology into a ready-to-use solution that helps our armed forces tackle drone threats. By using our advanced manufacturing capabilities, we are committed to providing our armed forces with the best indigenous defense technologies to protect the nation.”

Dr. BK Das, Director General of DRDO, also shared his thoughts, saying, “The Vehicle-Mounted Counter-Drone System is a crucial step in improving India’s defense against new types of threats. This system combines multiple anti-drone technologies into a single, mobile platform, ensuring quick response and flexibility. DRDO is dedicated to creating homegrown, next-generation solutions with Indian industries to strengthen national security. We are confident this system will play a key role in protecting our country.”
