Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2025 celebrations: India is celebrating Rashtriya Ekta Diwas this year with great excitement and pride. The day, observed every year on October 31, marks the birth anniversary of India’s Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This year’s celebration is extra special as it honors his 150th birth anniversary. The day reminds everyone about India’s unity, strength, and togetherness. It also pays respect to Patel’s great work in bringing together 562 princely states to form one strong nation.

Grand celebrations at Ekta Nagar
The main celebration is taking place in Ekta Nagar, located in Gujarat’s Narmada district. The place has been chosen for its natural beauty and for symbolizing India’s “Unity in Diversity.” The event includes a big parade and a colorful cultural program with participation from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), State Police forces, and the National Cadet Corps (NCC).
The parade will see participation from several forces, including the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Police teams from Assam, Tripura, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh will also join. The event will have horse and camel contingents, martial arts displays and unarmed combat drills that will make the celebration even more exciting.
This year, women’s empowerment is being given special attention. The Guard of Honor presented to the Prime Minister will be led by a female officer. Women personnel from CISF and CRPF will perform martial arts and combat drills, showing strength and discipline. The event will also highlight India’s indigenous dog breeds like the Rampur Hound and Mudhol Hound. The famous Mudhol Hound “Riya,” who won the All India Police Dog Competition, will lead the dog team, showing the important role of Indian breeds in national security.

The Gujarat Police’s Horse Contingent, Assam Police’s Motorcycle Daredevil team, BSF’s Camel Contingent, and the Camel Mounted Band will also take part. NCC cadets and school bands will perform with the message “Unity is Strength.” The Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran team will perform a beautiful air show that will fill the sky with colors and excitement.
Unity through art and culture
The parade will include tableaux from different states and union territories, such as Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Manipur, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, and Puducherry. Teams from NSG and NDRF will also join. All of them will represent the theme “Unity in Diversity,” which reflects the idea of one India with many cultures.
Bands from BSF, CRPF, CISF, SSB, Delhi Police, and several state police forces will play music to make the event lively. The government will also honor brave soldiers for their courage. The parade will recognize five Shaurya Chakra awardees from CRPF and sixteen gallantry medal winners from BSF for their bravery in anti-Naxal and counter-terror missions, including the famous Operation Sindoor on the western border.
Along with the parade, a cultural event organized by the Ministry of Culture will feature performances by 900 artists from across India.
Bharat Parv
After the main celebration on October 31, Ekta Nagar will continue to host cultural programs as part of Bharat Parv from November 1 to 15, 2025. The festival will have dance and music performances, along with a grand food festival bringing flavors from all states of India.
The event will finish on November 15 with a special day for Birsa Munda Jayanti to honor the brave and proud tribal people of the country.
