Defence in Andhra Pradesh: Andhra Pradesh’s IT, Education, and Electronics Minister, Nara Lokesh, recently met with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at his residence in New Delhi. During their discussion, Lokesh spoke about the various development initiatives underway in Andhra Pradesh and highlighted the programs launched since the coalition government took charge.
According to The HansIndia, he emphasized the state’s commitment to progress and requested Singh’s support in attracting defence sector investments to Andhra Pradesh, stressing that such investments could generate a significant number of jobs.

Lokesh also provided updates on key projects, including the ongoing development of the state capital, Amaravati, and the Polavaram irrigation project. He pointed out that both projects have received backing from the Central government.
Expressing concern over the state’s financial situation, he blamed the previous administration for the current debt burden, which he claimed had reached Rs 10 lakh crore due to past policies. Despite these challenges, he assured that the coalition government remains focused on restoring stability and driving development in a systematic manner.

Many political leaders accompanied Lokesh during the visit, including TDP members Rammohan Naidu, Pemmasani Srinivasa Varma, and Lavu Srikrishna Devaraya, along with other Union ministers. While discussing the state’s progress, Lokesh didn’t shy away from criticizing the previous government. He stated, “The past administration pushed Andhra Pradesh into turmoil, but we are determined to bring back order and growth”
