India aims to increase defense exports to over Rs 50,000 crore within five years, according to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who praised the country’s defense equipment exports.

India Defense Exports: In the next five years, India hopes to boost its defense exports to more than Rs 50,000 crore, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced Thursday.

Here at the South Block, Rajnath Singh assumed responsibility for his ministry following his reappointment as defense minister to the Union Cabinet. Senior ministry officials, including Mr. Sanjay Seth, the new Minister of State for Defence, received him.

He claimed India had already made history by exporting defense equipment valued at Rs. 21,000 crores.

He declared that he had honestly carried out his duties as the nation’s minister of defense for the past five years and would do so going forward. “Safeguarding the nation and ensuring the welfare of our jawans will remain our top priorities.”

According to Mr. Singh, the Modi administration is dedicated to creating a powerful and “Atmanirbhar” India. “Our military has always had excellent morale, and we will ensure it stays that way. Our forces have proven to be exceptionally brave when the need has arisen. It is insufficient to express gratitude to the Indian Army, Indian Navy, or Indian Air Force in any way, the speaker continued.

Shortly after assuming leadership, Mr Rajnath Singh called a review meeting to discuss the Modi government’s 100-day defense action plan with senior ministry officials and the heads of the military. According to The Statesman, attendees at the conference were Admiral Dinesh Tripathi of the Indian Navy, Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan, Chief of Army Staff Gen Manoj Pande, and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari.

Major issues concerning the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare were discussed during the meeting, which was centered around the welfare of veterans. He gave the police new instructions to recommit themselves to completing the tasks outlined in the 100-day action plan.

In light of the Indian Ocean Region’s increasing importance in defense calculations, the minister of defense decided that his first stop would be the Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam, where he would speak with the sailors and officers.
