Rolls-Royce £300 Million UK Investment: Rolls-Royce is set to invest £300 million ($397.9 million) to expand and upgrade its manufacturing and engineering facilities across the UK. The investment will cover both its civil aerospace and defence businesses as the company prepares for higher production demand and future programmes.
The biggest part of the investment will go to Derby, where Rolls-Royce has its main Civil Aerospace operations. The company is also increasing spending at defence and manufacturing sites in Bristol, Inchinnan, Rotherham and Ansty.

More than £140 million will be invested in Derby to build new engineering and manufacturing facilities. The company said the work will also improve aftermarket support and increase capacity. Construction is expected to be completed in 2028.
Bristol will receive more than £90 million for a major upgrade programme. The site is home to Rolls-Royce’s UK military power and propulsion operations and employs more than 3,500 people. The investment will improve digital security, IT systems, workspaces and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul capabilities. The Bristol upgrades are expected to be completed in 2031.
At Inchinnan in Glasgow, £43 million will be used for new machinery to support the production of new engine components. Rotherham will get £19 million for its Advanced Blade Casting Facility, along with another £2 million from the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. The project is expected to double the facility’s advanced turbine blade output by 2030. Ansty in Warwickshire will receive £5 million for machinery upgrades to improve manufacturing capacity and efficiency.
Strong Demand Drives New Investment
Rolls-Royce said the new spending will help its UK facilities handle manufacturing demand and support future aerospace programmes. The company has invested more than £3 billion in the UK since 2023. It also spent more than £2.8 billion with UK-based suppliers in 2025, supporting a large network of engineering companies and smaller businesses.

The announcement comes after a strong financial performance in the first half of 2026. Rolls-Royce reported a 46% increase in underlying operating profit to £2.5 billion in July, with strong demand across its aerospace and defence businesses.
UK Chancellor John Healey said the investment would support skilled jobs and strengthen the country’s industrial base.
“From Derby and Bristol to Rotherham, Glasgow and Warwickshire, it will back skilled jobs, strengthen our sovereign industrial capability, and help drive growth in communities across the United Kingdom.”
The company said the investment will also support important defence programmes. Its Bristol operations are involved in projects including the Eurofighter Typhoon’s EJ200 engine, the MT30 marine gas turbine and the next-generation Global Combat Air Programme.
