Emirates A380 Upgrade: Diehl Aviation and Emirates have agreed to work together on the next part of the Emirates A380 retrofit project. This project focuses on upgrading the inside of the Airbus A380, which is the world’s biggest passenger plane.

Diehl Aviation wants to give Emirates even better support systems so the company has grown its presence in the Middle East by opening a new workshop in the Dubai Airport Freezone. This workshop received EASA Part 21G approval and started working in early 2025.

The new place in Dubai helps Diehl Aviation make cabin parts, fix them and deliver them right in the region. This means airlines like Emirates do not have to wait long for parts because the work happens close by.

The Dubai team will also join selected tasks in the next phase of the retrofit, doing hands-on work such as building parts, putting pieces together and giving local support.

Harald Mehring, Chief Customer Officer at Diehl Aviation, said this new step shows trust from Emirates. He said, “Being awarded the next phase of the Emirates A380 retrofit is a strong vote of confidence and an important milestone for Diehl Aviation. With our dedicated team and our new setup in the Dubai Airport Freezone, we are ideally positioned to support Emirates locally. This next phase underscores our commitment to long-term partnerships, operational excellence, and customer proximity in one of the world’s most dynamic aviation markets.”

His words show how important the project is for the company. The continued work on the A380 retrofit makes the partnership between Emirates and Diehl Aviation even stronger, erported Diehl. Both companies want to improve comfort for passengers and make the fleet operate better and smoother.
